Buying XREAL Eye for Spatial Anchor: Verify the Recenter Behaviour Too

An XREAL Eye user discussion asks why a spatially anchored screen will not retain the desired vertical position.

An XREAL Eye user discussion asks why a spatially anchored screen will not retain the desired vertical position. Replies offer different experiences and suggestions. The thread does not establish a universal fault, a successful recovery for the original owner or the exact build meant by “latest official firmware.”

The purchase question extends beyond whether an accessory unlocks positional tracking. Can the supported combination place and restore the screen where the wearer needs it? A feature label alone cannot answer how the controls behave in the intended environment.

Check the complete supported combination

XREAL's Spatial Anchor instructions identify the accessory workflow and its activation and recenter steps. Verify the exact glasses, accessory, required software and environment instructions. Do not infer that a camera adds every spatial feature associated with a different XREAL product.

In particular, positional tracking, hand interaction and capture are separate capabilities. Support for one does not establish the others. If the required function is not documented for the selected combination, retain it as Unknown rather than relying on a retailer's broad AR description.

Demonstrate restoration, not just first activation

During a permitted ordinary trial, establish a comfortable stationary position and use the documented recenter control. Note whether horizontal and vertical placement behave as expected. Then check the supported procedure for leaving and returning to the mode. Do not replace the official sequence with repeated improvised gestures or settings copied from another model.

Record any environment-recognition prompt or limitation that appears. A positional-tracking mode may impose conditions a basic directional screen does not. Conversely, seeing an image stay roughly in place does not independently verify its tracking accuracy.

Keep the support question specific

If the image returns to an unwanted position, include the exact mode, steps, environment and version strings. State whether the issue occurs immediately after activation or only after changing modes. Do not treat an unverified recovery suggestion in the comments as a confirmed solution.

Lensden's tracking guide explains why orientation anchoring and positional tracking should not be conflated. The existing One Pro record retains the glasses identity while accessories are assessed separately. Reviewed November 3, 2026. No Lensden Eye test, room-mapping result or promise that every recenter workflow is supported.
