One Pro IPD Numbers: Why the Menu Is Not the Same as Choosing M or L
In an XREAL One Pro discussion, a wearer with an estimated IPD around 64–66 mm asked how that measurement related to a menu using positive and negative steps.
In an XREAL One Pro discussion, a wearer with an estimated IPD around 64–66 mm asked how that measurement related to a menu using positive and negative steps. Replies offered conflicting explanations. The disagreement is a reason to consult current model documentation, rather than convert a popular comment into a fitting rule.
XREAL's IPD adjustment page lists One Pro M at 57–66 mm and L at 66–75 mm, with different centre values. It also describes menu adjustment steps and warns that adjustment can reduce maximum screen size or distance. These are manufacturer specifications, not Lensden measurements or a promise of equal clarity throughout each range.
Identify the hardware before changing the menu
Check the edition shown by your device and the retailer's order record. A menu setting does not change the physical frame edition you received. If an online listing does not state M or L clearly, request that information before placing the order. Do not infer the edition from the country of sale or a photograph of the packaging.
Measure IPD through an appropriate optical provider when uncertain. An approximate range from an old prescription or a ruler does not resolve every borderline purchase. A measurement identifies a starting point; it cannot guarantee comfortable access to every screen corner on a particular face.
Compare using a task, not a slider target
Begin with the documented default for the exact edition. Use a simple page with text near the corners and centre, then make one supported adjustment at a time. Record what becomes visible and readable, and whether the screen rectangle changes. Do not keep moving the setting merely to reach the same number another owner reported.
At an overlap between published ranges, a careful trial or retailer fitting discussion is more useful than a blanket instruction to choose larger or smaller. Keep the return terms available if trying either edition remotely.
The source thread does not establish its participants' firmware builds or professionally measured IPDs. It also cannot establish whether a particular symptom is caused by software, optics or vision. Avoid treating disagreement in its comments as proof of a concealed hardware defect.
