An Adapter That Stops After Minutes Is Not Automatically a Heat Fault

In an HDMI-adapter discussion, a commenter describes a converter that worked briefly with PS5 and XREAL 1S before losing signal. They report that a higher-wattage supply did not resolve it and that a different cable arrangement worked for them. This is a useful account of a changed setup, not proof of which component caused the first failure.
A timed signal loss requires a different diagnostic record from a missing power connection. It should not be labelled overheating simply because the accessory feels warm. Keep a successful first picture, the later failure and the conditions between them in the same account.
Record what actually stops
Does the picture disappear while audio continues? Does the source still show an external display? Does the glasses interface remain visible? Note the approximate time and whether ordinary movement preceded the problem. Do not deliberately run the device until it fails repeatedly, and stop immediately for damage, unusual odour, unstable charging or unsafe heat.
Keep the converter's model and revision, source, power supply and cable identities together. A different converter changing the outcome narrows the comparison but does not isolate firmware, signal negotiation or thermal behaviour. Several parts of the chain may have changed at once.
Wattage is not an outcome measurement
A power supply's advertised ceiling does not establish what a connected accessory receives or requires. Use the converter's own documented input requirements. Do not buy progressively larger chargers based on a forum suggestion, and never improvise voltage settings or damaged connections to force a result.
The manufacturer's One-series connection guidance helps distinguish supported source paths. It does not certify every third-party adapter discussed online. The original comment does not establish the rejected adapter's internal temperature or a specific firmware fault.
Ask support a narrow question
Send the repeatable sequence and ask whether the exact converter revision supports that source, glasses and requested mode. Include whether a supported basic mode behaves differently. Keep receipts and return deadlines; a part that repeatedly loses the intended signal may be unsuitable even when the underlying cause remains Unknown.
For the separate case where an owner reports resolving heat by adding the documented power cable, see Lensden's RayNeo account. Do not apply that result blindly here. Reviewed November 3, 2026; no Lensden thermal or electrical test.
