Reliable connectivity and reliable information are separate requirements. A June 2026 RayNeo V4 account published by 36Kr from Leikeji describes mixed assistant behaviour on vAROS 2.2.38: some answers used current information, while another incorrectly said Switch 2 had not launched. The author identifies the piece as a subjective experience rather than professional testing. This is V4 context, not evidence about every V3, iO or competing assistant.

The practical lesson is that receiving a fluent response does not prove that the assistant searched current sources. Nor does a wrong answer prove that the glasses were offline. The underlying retrieval decision and current behaviour on later software remain Unknown.

Separate connection, task and evidence

First identify what you are trying to do. Capturing a local photo, playing phone audio and asking a cloud assistant a current question can have different requirements. A camera working without internet does not demonstrate offline general-purpose AI.

Check the supported phone connection and service availability through the normal app. If an online request fails, preserve the actual error rather than diagnosing the radio, server or account from silence. Do not repeatedly reset working glasses to repair an unconfirmed service problem.

Then evaluate the answer itself. A response about a release date, timetable or product feature should have a checkable date and source. If the assistant cannot provide one, verify the claim with the original organisation on your phone before acting on it. A conversational tone is not a confidence measurement.

Keep model documentation beside the anecdote
